At 460 ml, this jar of grilled artichokes is made for the moment an artichoke stops being a snack and becomes an ingredient. It belongs to the Seasoned range, whose artichokes are cooked and then left to marinate in their own spiced oil.
400 g net and 250 g of drained artichoke, in a glass jar. The ingredients read: artichoke halves and quarters, canola oil, distilled vinegar, salt, garlic and spices (mustard), with citric acid as acidifier and ascorbic acid as antioxidant.
A jar this size covers a grain bowl, a pizza topping, a tray of roast vegetables or a sandwich for several people. Drain it, keep a spoonful of the oil for dressing, and taste before adding salt.
It has 541 kJ (131 kcal), 10 g of fat, 1 g saturates, 7.0 g of carbohydrates, 1.0 g sugars, 2.3 g of dietary fiber, 2.0 g of protein and 1.0 g of salt.
Retail format: six jars to a case, 4.25 kg gross per case and 228 cases per pallet. The rest of the family is in the Seasoned range.
If you cook for several people, one 460 ml jar saves opening two small ones: you get 250 g of drained artichoke to share across a board, a pizza or a side for meat. It is the mid-size jar of the range, between the appetizer jar and the foodservice cans, and the one that suits most home kitchens.
The spices in the recipe include mustard, so check the ingredients before serving it to guests with that allergy. The same recipe also comes in other sizes within the seasoned family sold in jars and cans.
It also works as a quick topping for a pizza or a flatbread, since the pieces are already roasted and seasoned when you open the jar.
