Foods that keep you hydrated during summer

Our skin is in summer climates, more than the rest of the year, exposed to external agents, especially the sun and heat, making it dehydrate more quickly. At this time we must pay special attention to skin care and, for this, in addition to the basic care for the rest of the year, there are a number of foods that we can add to our day-to-day life that will help improve skin hydration. The basis of this aid is that all these foods are very rich in water.

Cucumber
Cucumbers are made up of 96% water and that is why they are the perfect allies to hydrate the skin in summer. The enzymes that make up that water help digestion, so it will not weigh heavily on our stomach when we eat it. Its use is multiple: raw in salads, smoothies, juices, etc.

Watermelon
Watermelon provides us with water and vitamin C. It can be eaten in slices, juices or smoothies as it is very rich in flavor and easy to digest.

Green leafy vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are the foods that have the most water and serve us the most to hydrate the skin during summer. Green leafy vegetables such as spinach or lettuce are also rich in vitamin A and C and minerals that serve to protect and remove toxins from the skin while keeping it hydrated.

Peppers and tomatoes
Like all other vegetables, peppers and tomatoes are full of water. Its reddish color is given by lycopene, an antioxidant element that prevents aging and will give our skin a healthy glow. They are an ideal complement to take raw, cooked or in smoothies to optimize the care of our skin.
